At the British Lichen Society (BLS) we want to include everyone who has an interest in Lichens. In trying to fulfil this aim, we have designed our web site to be compliant with current web standards and accessiblity guidelines.
What does this mean?
- The site is written in [xhtml] and [verified] with the World Wide Web (W3C) consortium to ensure conformance to W3C Recommendations and other standards. This means that you will be able to view the site confidently on a range of devices.
- The site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control the layout of content and graphics on the page. The BLS style sheet is written in conformance with W3C Recommendations and other standards and is [verified] to ensure compliance. Use of CSS allows any viewer to make use of their own style sheet to view the site in accordance with their needs.
- The site has been checked with [Internet Explorer], [Mozilla Firefox] and [Opera] to ensure that the broadest cross section of users share a common experience when using the site.
- The site has been checked for accessibility compliance according to the W3C's [preliminary review guidelines].
